Nov 12 Update: Drove over the Hurley today (Nov 12) from Gold Bridge. 5 km either side of the Pass app 1.5 feet of snow. Drove in ruts if thankfully similar sized truck (Pathfinder). Was not plowed past point where grade starts up to pass. Closure imminent if no further plowing. Thanks to Allan for the update!
Nov 8 Update: The road is in really good condition. Plowed two lanes all the way with compact snow. Potential to turn icy when temps drop, it is above zero up there today. Lower switchbacks no snow but icy sections related to where the water runs. Approx 6-8 inches of new material on the lower switchbacks. Thanks to Debbie Demare for the latest update.
Nov 4 update from the logging company: The road will be plowed until there is enough snow that it’s no longer feasible at the pass. It will be plowed in both directions, Aspen has a timber sale along the FSR before the steel bridge as well. We are thinking this month will be okay and hoping to make it to Xmas.
Nov 2 update: The new snow on the Hurley has been cleared to 20km from the Pemberton side with 3-4 inches of snow from there to Gold Bridge with several vehicle tracks. Watch for logging trucks. Thanks to Kristy for the update and photo.
