The East Hurley has been groomed! Huge thanks to Phil & Rod from the Bridge River Valley Snowmobile Club who drove the Tucker snowcat up the road in a snowstorm! The avalanche debris at 12km from Gold Bridge on the main Hurley had cut off cat access all winter and that is why no grooming has been done this year. Access to Gold Bridge has been cut off by another wet avalanche at 12km. Reports are in that there is a way to get around the slide, let us know if you make it across and send photos to info@bridgerivervalley.ca
The grooming is just in time for the Bralorne Backcountry Picnic happening this week from March 22 – 25. This is a backcountry ski & snowboard event which will be accessed by snowmobiles. Avalanche gear is mandatory for all spectators. Live music at the Mineshaft Pub each night of the event! Check out the website for more info.
Avalanche danger has been high in the alpine in the whole area. Check the avy report before you head out and observe conditions when you are out! Play safe!
