Nov 4 Update:\u00a0 30cm at the top of the Hurley and conditions are slick.<\/p>\n

Winter driving conditions are now in effect on the Hurley Road and you should only attempt to drive the Hurley today if you are prepared and experienced. \u00a0\u00a0 If you make the choice to drive the Hurley make sure you are prepared with Winter driving skills, 4 x4 truck\u00a0 and good winter tires are essential for travel at this time of the year.\u00a0 Chains and a survival\/safety kit are good things to carry in your truck.\u00a0 Be prepared for self rescue!\u00a0 Most people should consider taking the alternate route to the Bridge River Valley via Lillooet and Road 40.\u00a0 It’s a beautiful scenic drive so take your time and enjoy it!<\/p>\n

Snow fell to the valley bottom last night so the Hurley will definitely be snowy today.\u00a0 How much snow?\u00a0\u00a0 We don’t know yet but if someone finds out can you please send an update to info@bridgerivervalley.ca for posting!\u00a0 Drive safe!<\/p>\n

Sad news to report today.\u00a0\u00a0 Hurley supporter Frank Baumann was on his way to work at the Jaimie Creek IPP in our area when he went off the bridge in the Pemberton Meadows at the start of the Hurley that crosses the Lillooet River and was air lifted to VGH.\u00a0 Frank was taken off life support on Thursday and died yesterday.<\/p>\n

Frank was a regular contributor of information regarding the Hurley to this website and very recently wrote and advocacy letter on behalf of improvements on the Hurley.\u00a0\u00a0 For many years Frank was also the Geological Engineer who flew the Hurley every spring to check the snow pack status and would send us the aerial photos to share.\u00a0 Frank was a regular Hurley driver.\u00a0 We will miss Frank and our condolences go out to the Baumann family.\u00a0 Rest in Peace Frank.<\/p>\n
