{"id":1637,"date":"2015-05-04T12:38:26","date_gmt":"2015-05-04T19:38:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/isurvivedthehurley.com\/?p=1637"},"modified":"2015-05-05T13:26:04","modified_gmt":"2015-05-05T20:26:04","slug":"opening-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/isurvivedthehurley.com\/?p=1637","title":{"rendered":"Opening Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Post has been updated with a photo of the summit taken on Monday.\u00a0 Thanks to Mark from <a href=\"http:\/\/nsmba.ca\" target=\"_blank\">NSMBA.ca<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 for the photo.<\/p>\n<p>The Hurley is close to opening, however it is not officially open as yet.\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/snowcats.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Backcountry Snowcats<\/a> have spent time, fuel, wear and tear on their snow cat to do some work in the road from just south of the summit to the Face Mt turnoff.\u00a0 They have removed 5 feet of snow from the centre of the road and the\u00a0 road is now down to the ice layer.\u00a0 However, 30 cm of snow has fallen since this was done.\u00a0 Warm spring days\u00a0 have arrived but the nights have still been cool.\u00a0 They are advising that travel is not recommended without a shovel, good winter tires, 4&#215;4, and chains.
