FLNRO is still waiting for avy clearance from the MOTi avalanche technicians. Tom will be going out later this week, early next to assess snow depth etc. and will be opening the Hurley based on that assessment and staying within the budget , and of course when the avy risk is assessed as ok– it’s a bit of a balancing act. Grading the snow free parts of the road will begin shortly. Another update will be provided soon.

Big thank you to Ken and FLNRO for the “on the bit” job they are doing this year. It really is a pleasure to have certainty about what is happening!

The BC Forest Safety Council has issued an updated Resource Road User Safety Guide. Two versions are out now, one for passenger vehicles and one for off road vehicles. The new safety guides can be read on the Driving the Hurley page on this website.

Today we took a drive up the Hurley to see the conditions. The snow starts at the 26km mark from Gold Bridge. Some parts of the road are in bad shape, especially around Green Mt where there was winter logging. The new logging has opened up a viewpoint and the views are stunning! More updates will be posted as they come in.

<figure id="attachment_1864" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-1864"
