BJ and Sal have been great this year with lots of communication to post here.

Tom was surprised yesterday when he got to work and there was a wolverine sitting on top of his cat! A good way to start the day! The day was just as expected for ploughing, slow. He only made it just under 1.5km in a 10 hour day. The snow walls ploughed up are 12’-14’ tall and have to be set back a long ways from the road. This is the only way that Tom can clear the single lane for traffic.

He is close to the summit but the snow is still getting deeper. We’ll see how much faster it goes once he is past the summit and pushing downhill, plus there is way more room to push it off the road on the Pemberton side. But, it still looks like late Saturday is the time of completion.

Please stay off the road. Crews are still working. Squamish Mills will start grading from the Pemberton side soon and they also need space and respect. If flaggers are needed it will use up the summer maintenance budget so please respect the crews working and use common sense. Stay off the road until the work has been complete and give the grader space and drive slow. Thanks!

Tom and his cat

Update on the progress of the Hurley opening from BJ Moore, FLNRO.
