Thanks to Sal DeMare for passing on this great news from BJ Moore, District Engineering Officer for Cascades Natural Resource District.
We have received $80,000 for the hauling/placing of the crush on the Hurley. I’m working with my counterpart on moving this forward this summer. We are also looking at creating parking spaces at the two popular trailheads. Things are looking up and I look forward to seeing both these projects move ahead this summer.
Bridge River Valley Mechanical Contracting will start grading the Hurley on Tuesday and work will last about 2 weeks and grading will be completed by the long weekend.
This site is based on Hurley driver updates so please email new road conditions to info@bridgerivervalley.ca or post in the comments below. Support this website and order your Hurley t-shirts, bumper stickers, can coolers & new trucker hats coming soon.

Hurley is in great shape. There is a tree down on the hair pins where they have been logging between the Hurley 1 and 2 up. Is passable but for only one vehicle. Didn’t have my hand saw with me sorry.
I drove the hearly yesterday and I thought it was in great shape. Thanks. Vicki Marlatt.
We should have a sign at the bottom : 4×4 or AWD only.
Thats great news (and I agree about the 4×4 comment), it makes a big difference!
Does anyone know if the road bed material will be compacted or secured in anyway once its been graded? If not, I don’t see how its going to last, but hopefully I’m wrong.
Curious as to the “two popular trailheads”. Semaphore, and…Branch 12?
That’s awesome news. Now if users could put their vehicles in 4×4 and crawl up the big under instead of pinning it up in 2wd maybe it will stay more that couple days
Do we know when the Hurley will be graded ?
