Update May 11 – Dozer moved today to Hope creek. Snow starts at Donnley Creek. Will start plowing Monday.
Thanks to Sal DeMare for submitting the latest opening update from BJ Moore, Cascades District Engineering Officer. Further updates will be posted as they come in.
Good morning. We’ve received another update from the avalanche tech and it is good news. Most of the threat has subsided and by next week it will be safe to work/travel under the Green Mtn tract. Our contractor has other obligations until later next week, but plans on starting the plowing as soon as he can. From the reports of the amount of snow on the FSR, it should be plowed quickly and not take long to open. I would say that the Hurley will be open before the long weekend easily and potentially a few days before. I’ll let you know when the plowing starts and provide updates when I receive them.
Should be ok by then
Not until it’s open, hopefully later this week
Scott just started plowing today, Monday so I doubt it will be ready for tomorrow
Would you be able to ask the operator for larger parking area around the Semaphore lakes trailhead? Over the years they leave space only 4-5 cars and people are parking alongside the road for a long way…
Can we drive the whole road from Pemberton to Gold Bridge ?
Anyone willing to predict whether motorcycles will be able to make it over the Hurley around June 4th.
Don
Hello. We are driving up to the BVR on Tuesday the 14th. Any idea if the Hurley will be Good to go? Thanks you
Yes you will be able to access Semaphore trail head but expect to be hiking in snow from the road to the lake
If the Hurley opens as expected, does that mean we could get to Semaphore Lakes for June 1st? Just trying to figure out how much snow would still be at the lakes. Thanks!
