Thanks to Chuck for the latest update: Came down the Hurley yesterday from Bralorne via the east Hurley. The east Hurley itself was in decent condition (considering its maintained to a lower standard than the main Hurley) with no obstructions or wash outs to report. Bumpy the whole way but not too bad.
No comment on the section of the Hurley coming up (from Gold Bridge) to the steel bridge as I didn’t travel that section.
The main Hurley from the steel bridge to the summit was rough for the majority (as rough as the east Hurley) and didn’t really improve until the big hit going down from the summit. The switch backs down below were about the same as the main Hurley. Overall the road was rough with lots of washboards, pot holes and the occasion short smoother section.
Saw an empty rock truck going up from the Lillooet FSR side (which seemed odd) but maybe it was going up to scout out where to take the crushed rock for future grading? Came across the rock crusher and a couple of rock trucks prepping materials for future road work as mentioned by Sal down on the Lill FSR.
The best part of the whole journey was the Lillooet FSR which looked and felt like it had been graded not too long ago. The section of the FSR near the old out door school was sprayed with some kind of anti dust coating which made a HUGE difference in visibility and safety. It would be nice if the entire Lillooet FSR and Hurley got the same anti dust treatment, as what ever they used really worked well.
