The good news is the fires on the Hurley are out or under control. The bad news is we have heard multiple complaints of the Hurley being in the worst shape in a long time.
Thanks to Hurley driver Al Jenkins for this update:
I talked with MOF at Squamish and Merrit yesterday regarding the rough Hurley road.
I was told it is too dry to grade now and significant rainfall is needed. If no rain comes in the next two weeks the plan is to pair up a water tanker with a grader to work on the hills.
My thought is this is only a bandaid solution for a few hours with the temperature near 30!
I am going via highway 99.

I concur re the road conditions Having been driving the hurley for 40yrs now I can say it is about as bad as I have ever seen it Honestly its an embarrassment given the annual increase in traffic. The hills are not even the worst part the top section especially the south part is brutal. Oddly the pemberton section of switchbacks is the best of the bad .
