Thanks to Gerry Woods for the latest Hurley update and photo. The Hurley snow starts about a kilometre below the Semaphore lakes trailhead . There the studded tires looked for traction for about a block. Set track is truck width. Thanks to below zero temperatures the snow was light and grippy all the way to the Gold Bridge pavement . The Lillooet FSR is in good shape and the ditching and clearing has made the Pemberton side of the climb almost nice. They have done a great job of the road base work!
If you choose to drive the Hurley at this time of the year be prepared to experience all kinds of weather and winter driving conditions. Winter driving skills, 4×4, chains and good snow tires are essential for travel. A survival/safety kit are good things to carry in your truck. Conditions can change fast at anytime up there with the fluctuating temperatures & weather. Current conditions may not be reported on this site. Have a safe drive.
