My buddy and I are hoping to do the Hurley FSR from Gold Bridge to Pemberton this coming weekend on off road motorcycles. Any updates on the snow at the pass? Thanks!!
May 23 update:
Came down the Hurley today from Bralorne via the east Hurley. The East H was very rough, more so than normal to me.
The Main Hurley from the Steel bridge to the summit was also rough with some sections almost as bad as the East H.
There was about 4′ of snow at its deepest at the summit and a smoother section that was maybe one or two hundred meters long, but that was about it.
The big hill going down towards Pemberton was better than the previous sections and the switch back weren’t too bad as well.
By far, THE best/smoothest part of the entire journey was the Lilooeet FSR
We work closely with the contractor and the Ministry to provide fast and accurate data. The people who were stuck tried to drive the road before the official opening post was made and were stuck before the contractor made it to the end of the snow to pull them out. When this post was made, the road was officially open.
This post has led some drivers to take it at face value, resulting in avoidable incidents and costly towing charges.
