The Hurley is in terrible shape right now so drive slow and take it easy. A few vehicles have had damage this past week from the washboards and potholes. Use 4wd if you have it and if you don’t, maybe you should stay on the pavement.
There is a washout at 6.5km on the Upper Lillooet FSR, this is the flat section of road before the Hurley starts at the first climb after the Railroad Creek bridge. Sal Demare has reported this to the Sea To Sky Forest District, and they are sending a contractor out to inspect and repair. Message from Sal – the issue of grading the Hurley the yearly maintenance funding has not increased in many years. I have been advocating for an increase for many years also. Recently the SLRD and myself met with Ministry staff on this subject and they are looking at this issue. There maybe funding also available due to the Bonanza Creek Wildfire as an escape route and SLRD staff will look at that. More updates on this will be posted as they come in.
