Message from Sal Demare on the washout – I have been in communications with the Engineering Officer of the Sea to Sky Forest District the past few days regarding the washout on the North Lillooet River Forest Service Road. We had a phone call this morning and he was up at the site yesterday and will be going back up there today. They are working on getting an Emergency Work Permit from Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). They will be installing signs on either end with more pylons/barricades. The contractor will be moving equipment to the site in the next couple of days and the plan is to put rock in to help stop the erosion and develop the plan for the final stages of the work required to finalize the stabilization of the roadbed. I have asked to share any new information he can share and will share with the I Survived the Hurley Website Facebook Group.
