East Hurley Grading Update

Posted on June 28, 2016June 28, 2016

The complete East Hurley from the steel bridge to Bralorne has been graded in the last week. Overall it is in considerably better condition than it has been for several years. The first four kms from the steel bridge turn off are in really good shape as the rocks turned up by the grading  have been pounded in by logging trucks.  There is active logging about 4kms in so please be cautious. From 4kms to Bralorne, the grading has turned up sharp rocks.  Grading always produces sharp rocks so be aware of this.

The Bralorne Ball Tournament is this weekend and we welcome everyone to come on up and watch some great ball in a crazy amazing location.

The Bralorne Community Advisory Committee has a subcommittee working on the issue of the maintenance of the East Hurley Rd.  Many thanks to those people who have donated towards the grading of the East Hurley. The feedback the committee has received has been mostly positive with the understanding that  “one swallow does not a summer make” and they are hoping for further improvements.  The committee will continue to work with MOTI regarding the maintenance of the East Hurley.

The  goal of raising a $1,000.00 towards the cost of the grading has been met, however we would like to ask those of you who drive the East Hurley and have not already made a donation to reconsider and donate to this important project.  All donors to this project will have their names entered into a raffle for the book “Bears without Fear” by Kevin Van Tighem.  Donations can be made with a credit card on the Pay Pal link at the bottom of this page. Thanks again to everyone who donated!

Wondering if it’s possible to do the drive with a 2wd car? It got decent clearance but it’s just a car
